Purple Tree

Inspired by a tree's silhouette against the sunset, this piece has a background of blended purple, white and black acrylic paint, with a simple black tree standing out against it in acrylic. Layers of paint give the tree texture, like the bark of a real tree.The background colours continue over the sides of the box canvas on which it is painted, to give one continuous block of colour. This canvas measures 30.5cm (12") x 41cm (16") and is 3.5cm (1.5") deep.
